A Papparazzi Of Light

The Melodramatic City

gotta love this winter shot that i took personally; taken from the bryant park ice skating rink in midtown. a perfect storm for light, shine and color, at night.

the rich textures of New York City are unparelled anywhere in the world, those of us who live here, while with many valid complaints, still cannot get over the enjoyment of such a beautiful city. if you can build and survive and build a decent network of friends and stay with them and they with you, that would be a triumph. but alas, that is not the new york most new yorkers know. people come and go, suceed and fail, live and die. all the while you're going about your business trying to survive. even if you are rich. the city consumes you easily, you have to take a chunk outta it back.

so with such a reality, it is comforting to know another part of its reality makes it more or less worth it...
